Disaster Declaration for the State of Hawaii

FEMA Notice Date: August 10th, 2023

On August 9, 2023, the county of Maui Hawaii issued a Red Flag warning regarding the wildfires that are affecting the island. Wildfires on Hawaii have been reported as well. Many areas have been evacuated. FEMA declared the Wildfire disaster today: DR-4724-HI. No specific counties have been designated yet.

As a result of these declarations and notifications, OCMBC has made the determination to place a hold on locking, closing, and funding loans on Maui and Hawaii (The Big Island) for the time being.

On August 10, 2023, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) declared that federal disaster aid with individual assistance has been made available to counties in Hawaii to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the areas affected by Wildfires on 8/8/2023 and continuing.
